The Hampton Public Library in sponsorship with the First Bank Hampton is offering for the first time a program called "1000 Books Before Kindergarten."  This program is a nationwide challenge that encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children.  By reading just one book a night, families can reach the 1,000 book goal in three years.  The program is free of charge and is for children birth through five years of age.  Children receive a free book for every 200 books read and an HPL t-shirt when they reach their goal of 1,000 books. Parents can register their child(ren) in the children's department of the Library.

The Hampton Public Library Board of Trustees will meet in regular session on Wednesday, February 17th @ 5:15 pm in the Library.  Everyone is invited to attend. On the agenda; February bills, and library reports.
