Welcome to Hampton Public Library

National Library Week is April 13th-19th.  Please join the library staff for an Open House on Wednesday, April 16th from 10am to 5pm.  This Open House includes an adult program called the Dollar-A-Day Boys! by Bill Jamerson, from Michigan @ 2pm.

2014 marks the 125th anniversary of the inception of a public library in the City of Hampton.  Of course this is an exciting year for the Hampton Public Library because of the Courtyard Project. Donations are being accepted at City Hall if you are interested in donating to this much needed improvement to the original Carnegie building.

The Hampton Public Library Board of Trustees will meet in regular session, Tuesday, April 15th @ 5:15pm in the Library. The public is welcome to attend.

The Friends of the Hampton Public Library will have their annual meeting on Saturday, April 19th at 9 am.

With a library you are free, not confined by temporary political climates.  It is the most democratic of institutions because no one - but no one at all - can tell you what to read and when and how.    Doris Lessing
