Support Our Library

Find out how you can support our library.

Your support for the library will strengthen and expand our mission to serve every one in our service area. Your support is requested for outreach programs, for collections, and for special projects. Your support will demonstrate your appreciation for and understanding of the value in a civilized society of access to information. Ask the library staff what you can do to support our library.

The Hampton Public Library Foundation, Inc., was formed in 1988.  The initial board of directors included Joe Webber, Ron Schermer, Mary Lou Roth, Ray Drew, and Joe Pitsor.  The Foundation was established by the Hampton Public Library as a non-profit corporation to help, to improve, and to enrich the Hampton Public Library.

The Foundation was organized for charitable and educational purposes.  The main objective being cooperative in providing financing beyond limited public funds for library service.  The use of the library has grown beyond expectations, and the services offered have expanded beyond the customary role of providing books.

There is a strong precedent for private giving to the Hampton Public Library and the present building is a tribute to those who care about the quality of learning in our community.  To continue to anticipate and meet the interest of its patrons, the Board of Trustees of the library formed the Hampton Public Library Foundation to receive and administer gifts of money and property for the benefit of the library.  The Foundation Board of Directors, working in cooperation with the Hampton Public Library Board of Trustees and library staff, will determine areas of support.

If you are interested in giving a memorial, bequeaths by will or gifts from any source.  Unconditional and unrestricted gifts as well as other bequests, devices and donations consistent with the objectives and purposes of the Foundation will be accepted.  Contributions may be in the form of:  Cash, Property, Stocks or Securities, Memorials honoring relatives or friends, gifts through your Cooperation or Business, and Bequests in Wills.  Your gifts to the Hampton Public Library are tax deductible.  Check should be made payable to:  Hampton Public Library Foundation, Inc. and mailed to the Library at 4 Federal St. South Hampton, IA 50441.
