Information to help you find a book to read.

Librarians enjoy reading just as much as you do and we'd love to talk to you about books.  Everyone has such different tastes in reading for pleasure that the Librarians invite you to enjoy Goodreads @ www.goodreads.com.  Goodreads is the world's largest website for readers and book recommendations.  Goodreads was just purchased by Amazon and of course Amazon is trying to sell you books.  However, your library is a service you already support with your tax dollars and when you have a library card the books are free!  The Hampton Public Library buys most of the books listed in the noteworthy titles that have been racing up the popular charts, but on Goodreads you can also look up books by your favorite genre.  Just follow the link, go to the explore tab and try out Goodreads!

The Hampton Public Library hosts a book club the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the library.  The Beyond the Book Club offers light refreshments and lively discussion of a popular title.  To join come in or call the Library @ 456-4451.  Everyone is encouraged to join!

  • Patrons who have library cards can use the catalog on our website to place titles on hold.

The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books.
